MAKK?

About MAKK

Amber Morris is the photographer behind MAKK.  I am a mother and wife from a small town transplanted into the Dallas area.  My husband, Michael, and I were married in 2007 and we have two absolutely beautiful children, Kambry and Kohen.  Why MAKK?  Michael, Amber, Kambry, Kohen.

My husband builds import race cars - yes, and gets paid for it.  He's probably the only person I know that gets paid to do his dream job.  I grew up in the small towns of Athens and Corsicana.  As a child I was always drawn to cars, jeeps, and anything with a motor really...so needless to say my husband and I had a lot in common.  Our family life is very much a part of his racing, which is loads of fun!

I have a "day job" working in good 'ole corporate America.  Photography is a way for me to express my inner spontaneity.  I love taking candid pictures.  I have found that I am inspired by my subjects' natural personality rather than sticking them in a formation and telling them to "smile".  I like to capture real life; no one feels comfortable being posed.  Especially kids!

I am extremely easy going and laid back and have a very good, but strange sense of humor.  I love the smell of the dew in the morning, a firepit outside at night, the Texas Hill Country, singing, Godiva chocolate, a good chicken fried steak, a new pair of shoes and live music.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I hope you like what you see and I look forward to working with you!

-Amber
